[ QUOTE ]
I think he is gonna go to the pack because favre wants to load up for his last run and the pack will do just about what he says. He is proven, he can handle lots of carries, he can pass block, he can catch out of the backfield and he wants to prove to the bears after he leaves that it was a mistake to let him go. if green bay isnt the place for him i cannot imagine where else would be, the pack are gonna do some wheelin and dealin, Moss and Jones are Packers before May 10th, watch it go!

Re: Thomas Jones

If the Bears are smart, they do nothing. TJ may be upset, may not go to "voluntary" camp, but he will not hold out. Its not in his character. It would be a risk, for the Bears, and for Jones. Do nothing, keep Jones next year. Resign everyone, and extend everyone they can this offseason. Load up. Then see if you can afford to keep Jones, or franchise him after NEXT season. If not, you let him walk.

The Bears really just cant put it all on Benson's shoulders now can they? Huge risk? Or even worse, lets trade Jones to the G-Men for a mid to late second round pick... and watch him shine with another team thats on the rise in the conference, and with the emergence of Jacobs, and the Bears showing what Jones can do in the playoffs, especially against "beat up defenses" then you have a perfect combo in Jacobs and Jones and hope Eli Manning improves.

A Gaint?

Im tellin you all he is gonna be a Green Bay Packer.

[/ QUOTE ]

It'd be cool if he were a Green Bay Packer, because it would work out just right in my case!

I was a Notre Dame fan when I was really really young (about 8 years old) and Julius Jones was still in High School; Right after Julius Jones got out of High School, he went to play for Notre Dame! I was thrilled!

For Thomas Jones to go to Green Bay would be majorly awesome. (Not that I really expect it to happen or anything, but eh..)

Re: Thomas Jones

I agree. If Benson is what they're betting their franchise on, he showed last night that he can be ineffective. What, two carries? One a fumble, the other he was hurt on. TJ proved himself last night with 130 combined yards, providing half of Chicago's offense (265 total yds). He had the great fortune of getting to the SB, and the great misfortune of having Rex Grossman for a QB. Grossman had that "deer-in-the-headlight" look, and proved it with three turnovers. Worst QB performance I've ever seen in a Super Bowl, and I've seen all 41 of them.

He may hold out, but I agree its normally not his style. I agree the Bears should hold steady, but the biggest question is how bad was Benson's knee hurt. I still haven't seen anything for sure. Imagine the quandry it puts the Bears in if its an ACL and he has to miss part of next season because of it.

Benson is a 4th round pick he is to be the franchise player.
They have to get rid of Jones because of the salary cap. So they can give the others more money including the coach.
Go back and read. Done talked about this and everyone was wrong but one.

The only thing that did shine for the Bears last night was Hester on the Kick return and Jones on his run.
Grossman floated passes like a duck, pulled out from under center once to early and didn't get the ball once, and the D got beat to pieces on short out's and the Colts running game.
Out coached and out played at many positions.
I like Da Bears, but i think maybe we seen a bit, of a NFL style coaching clinc put on last night. Patience and stay with the game plan. Which is what Da Colts did.
The Bears may get rid of Thomas.
But if they want to look at positions to keep and some to work on. Well. Corners and possibly a QB who can get it done under pressure.
And hate to say it. But don't go away from a game plan you used all year long.

Jones will become a Giant. he'll get about 7 million added to his check for a trade to New York with his performance in the Super Bowl. I mean heck he was basically all the Bears had. He was th eonly one that got them anywhere. He had 14 carries with 114. everybody else had about 21 carries with 112. That's impressive. Thomas will be traded definately.

Re: Thomas Jones

the Bears D let them down too. you don't let a team come out of the half and keep it for 1/2 of the quarter and you don't give up first down's like the Bears did. Everyone knew that the Bears probably would have to have a big game from their D to offset if Grossman wasn't 100% on his game. So to me yeah Grossman had a bad game but the D had just as bad of a game

Don't know exactly what you're talking about there. According to official stats, Jones had 15 carries for 112 yards while on the other side of the ball Rhodes was the leading carrier for the Colts with 21 carries and 113 yards.
